Provence Photography Tours & workshops

Beautiful lavender fields and villages

A 6-day Provence photography tour and its stunning landscapes

Join me in the summer for a Provence photography tour and workshop with its beautiful lavender fields and pretty villages.

The tour will be based in two separate areas so that we can maximise the photo locations of this beautiful area of southern France.

We start in the Plateau de Valensole area, then we move westwards to the beautiful city of Avignon, whose historic centre is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Lavender fields

During the summer months in early July, the lavender starts to come into full bloom and this is especially so on the Plateau de Valensole where we will begin the photography tour. These fields are filled with lone trees and farm buildings which make the perfect backdrop for our photography.

Picturesque villages

The Provence photography tour will also include some of the surrounding villages as well. The Luberon area of Provence is noted for having five Beaux Villages de France or Beautiful Villages of France.

To be part of this prestigious accolade, a village must have a rural nature and have at least two national heritage sites or monuments historiques. This combined ensure we’ll always have plenty to capture on the Provence photography tour and workshop.

You’ll have a chance to capture the architecture in these villages of the south of France, as well as still life scenes and lifestyle images.

Sunflower fields

Provence isn’t only lavender fields. In July, farmers are also cultivating sunflower fields. If we’re lucky, we’ll be able to photograph not only the famed lavender fields but also the bright yellow sunflower fields, too.

Follow in the footsteps of Vincent Van Gogh and photograph these magical, endless fields of beautiful flowers in bloom on the Provence photography tour.

Avignon

The Provence photography tour is based across two different parts of the region. The second half sees our accommodation near Avignon.

This stunning UNESCO-listed city is famed for its stunning Palais de Papes, along with the famed medieval bridge, Pont Saint-Bénézet, which stretches across the river Rhone.

One of our evenings will be dedicated to capturing the bridge as dusk falls across the city.

Outrside of the city, we’ll also endeavour to visit places such as the Pont du Gard.

Colorful markets

Provence, and France in general, is famed for its colourful markets.

We’ll look to visit at least one market during the Provence photography tour. Don’t worry about the French language, as I’ll be on hand to help navigate us through these close-up situations with the market sellers.

  • Panoramic photography. How to best compose the beautiful panoramas that we’ll see during the photography tour
  • Using Adobe Lightroom or Camera Raw to process our images
  • Using luminosity masks in Adobe Photoshop
  • Colour correction
  • Stitching panoramic images
