The Ladakh photography tour adventure begins in Leh, the historic capital of Ladakh and one of the highest cities in the world. Sitting at around 3,500 meters above sea level, Leh is surrounded by the mighty Himalayas and offers an incredible introduction to the region. The town itself is filled with character: narrow streets, bustling markets, whitewashed houses, and centuries-old monasteries perched above the valley. Early morning and evening light in Leh is particularly magical for photographers, illuminating the mountains and architecture in warm golden tones. We will explore the town and its surroundings, capturing scenes of daily life, prayer flags fluttering in the wind, and monks going about their routines in ancient temples.
One of the highlights of the Ladakh photography tour will be the journey to the spectacular Nubra Valley, a place that feels almost otherworldly. To reach it, we will travel up and along the legendary Khardung La, often described as one of the highest motorable roads in the world. The drive itself is an unforgettable experience. As we ascend into the high mountains, the landscape changes dramatically—from green valleys to rugged rock formations and vast snow-covered peaks. Along the way, there will be plenty of opportunities to stop and photograph the breathtaking scenery.

Towering to nearly 7800m high, every day we will be amongst these stones giants as we traverse the valleys.
Ladakh is known for its colourful festivals held each year in conjunction with the lunar calendar.
The photo opportunities at these festivals for travel photographers are endless. From the colourful costumes to the dances and rituals that follow.
The Ladakh photo tour will be based around one or two of these festivals so that we can fully immerse ourselves in the local culture.
There are a number of tribal people that inhabit the mountainous valleys of Ladakh.
We will endeavour to get up close and engage with them in order to get stunning travel portraiture photography.
