Photography Portfolio

This photography portfolio offers a curated overview of the diverse areas I specialise in as a landscape and travel photographer. It brings together a collection of work that spans dramatic natural environments, coastal scenes, and the dynamic energy of the cities we inhabit. Each category or country reflects not only a different subject matter but also a distinct creative and technical approach, shaped by the unique challenges and opportunities presented by each location.

Landscape photography within this portfolio focuses on capturing the scale, atmosphere, and changing moods of the natural world. From expansive mountain ranges in places such as Nepal or Torres del Paine to quiet countryside scenes from the UK, these images often require patience, careful planning, and a deep understanding of light, weather, and composition. Timing is critical, whether it’s waiting for the perfect sunrise or anticipating shifting conditions, to create images that feel both immersive and authentic.

Seascape photography introduces another layer of complexity. The movement of water, the unpredictability of tides, and the interplay between light and reflections demand a refined technical approach. Long exposures, precise timing, and an awareness of coastal conditions all play a key role in producing images that convey motion, tranquillity, or raw power, depending on the scene.

In contrast, urban and city photography explores the rhythm and structure of human environments. These images highlight architectural detail, street life, and the interaction between people and place. Unlike the natural landscape, cities such as Tokyo or London are constantly evolving, requiring adaptability and quick decision-making to capture fleeting moments, changing light, and unique perspectives.

Environmental portraits are an area that I started to focus more on during my first trip to Mongolia in 2018. Since that time, I’ve captured people in places such as Nepal, Vietnam, India and Japan as well as the aforementioned Mongolia. I love learning learning languages which helps me get that much closer to people.

Together, these disciplines form a comprehensive photography portfolio that demonstrates both versatility and consistency in visual storytelling. While each genre requires its own skill set and mindset, they are united by a common focus on composition, light, and atmosphere. My aim is not only to document locations but to interpret them in a way that evokes emotion and a sense of place.
