A thirteen-day Vietnam & Cambodia photo tour and workshop
Join me for an unforgettable Vietnam and Cambodia photo tour in February 2026. Embark on a photographic journey through the stunning countries of Vietnam and Cambodia with my photography tour and workshop. The thirteen-day/ twelve-night adventure will start in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), where you will be picked up and transported to our centrally located hotel. The photo tour will take in several iconic places, such as the city itself, the famous floating market in Can Tho and the Mekong Delta before first heading north to Phan Rang, then Hoi An, and then into Cambodia.
During February, the photo opportunities in Vietnam and Cambodia are bountiful. The weather is pleasant and will allow us to photograph places without the heat and humidity of the summer months.
The Vietnam and Cambodia photo tour is designed for photographers who are looking to enhance their travel photography skills with inspiring images to be had each day. With our local guide and my extensive experience in travel photography, you will learn how to capture stunning images using different techniques such as long exposure, portrait photography and landscape composition.
We will endeavour to make the very best of the morning and evening light during the Vietnam and Cambodia photography tour. You will be taken to some of the very best photo locations, as well as lead you to explore lesser-known spots, so you can photograph a wide array of classic landscape imagery, as well as street photography, lifestyle and close-up photography.
Our stay is based on a mixture of 4-star hotels. Double rooms with single occupancy are provided along with breakfast. Dinner is provided on 3 nights of the tour (drinks excluded).

- Panoramic photography. How to best compose the beautiful panoramas that we’ll see during the photography tour
Processing
- Using Adobe Lightroom or Camera Raw to process our images
- Using luminosity masks in Adobe Photoshop
- Colour correction
- Stitching panoramic images
Vietnam & Cambodia Photo Tour Itinerary – February 2026
Day 1
8 February 2026
Arrival in Saigon
Arriving at Tan Son Nhat Airport, our guide and driver will greet you and transfer you to your hotel for check-in and some time to rest.
In the afternoon, we’ll get together for a short orientation meeting before heading out for our first photo session in the city where we’ll capture vibrant street scenes and the dynamic energy of Saigon at dusk.
At sunset, we’ll photograph along the Saigon River for long-exposure cityscape shots with beautiful motion blur.
Our first day ends with a warm welcome dinner at a local Vietnamese restaurant.
Day 2
9 February 2026
Saigon – Sunrise & Street Life – Vinh Long – Can Tho
Our day begins capturing Saigon as it awakens at sunrise — especially along Ben Binh Dong, a vibrant riverside area filled with colourful flower-trading boats in the days leading up to Vietnamese Tết (Lunar New Year).
After breakfast, we’ll explore Chinatown’s bustling streets, photographing its rich daily life and dynamic energy.
In the afternoon, we check out of our hotel and head down to the Mekong Delta region to witness riverside life, where we’ll see fishing, trading, and water transport activities.
The photo tour continues with a documentary and drone session at the brick kilns of Vinh Long, capturing dramatic aerial perspectives at sunset before heading to Can Tho for an overnight stay.
Day 3
10 February 2026
Can Tho – Vi Thanh Market – Monks & Pagoda in Soc Trang – Can Tho
Our day starts early, departing before dawn for Hau Giang Province to visit Vi Thanh Market (also known as the Squatting Market) — one of the most colourful and authentic markets in the Mekong Delta, offering wonderful opportunities for candid and lively photography.
After the morning shoot, we’ll return to the hotel for breakfast and get some rest.
In the afternoon, we travel to Soc Trang to photograph a stunning Buddhist pagoda bathed in warm afternoon light, known for its blend of Khmer and modern architecture, and home to Vietnam’s largest reclining Buddha statue.
We’ll return to Can Tho for an overnight stay after the shoot.
Day 4
11 February 2026
Can Tho – Floating Market – Saigon – Mui Ne
As dawn breaks over the Mekong Delta, you’ll have the chance to experience Can Tho’s vibrant morning life. Drift among the boats at the Cai Rang Floating Market, where vendors trade fresh produce in a lively dance of colours, sounds, and reflections — a perfect setting for dynamic documentary photography.
After our morning shoot, we bid farewell to the Mekong Delta’s tranquil waterways and make our way back to Saigon, then continue along the coast to Mui Ne.
Depending on our arrival time, we’ll enjoy one of our two scheduled photography sessions at the fish sauce making factory & Vietnamese “bánh hỏi” either this afternoon or the following morning.
Day 5
12 February 2026
Phan Thiet – Fish Sauce Making – Phan Rang – Shepherds
After checking out from the hotel, we travel north toward Phan Rang, stopping along the way to photograph the vast dragon fruit plantations that blanket the landscape.
By mid-afternoon, we continue to Phan Rang for an exciting and lively photo session — capturing hundreds of sheep being herded along a dusty rural path toward a small Cham village farm. It’s a wonderful opportunity to photograph movement, light, and atmosphere, as well as to create environmental portraits of the herders gently holding their lambs.
We return to the hotel after the shoot.
Day 6
13 February 2026
Phan Rang – Sand Dunes – Green Net Mending – Nha Trang – Doc Let
We begin early, photographing sunrise over the Nam Cuong Sand Dunes, where Cham villagers and children move gracefully through the soft morning light — a scene rich in texture and emotion. The shoot concludes around 7:30 a.m., followed by breakfast and a short rest at the hotel.
Around noon, we check out and then head north toward Vinh Hy Bay to document the traditional craft of green net mending, an intricate and colourful practice of local fishing communities.
We then continue our journey to Doc Let, arriving in the late afternoon for an overnight stay.
Day 7
14 February 2026
Salt Fields of Hon Khoi – Nha Trang – Flight to Da Nang – Hoi An
Before dawn, we head out to the Hon Khoi Salt Fields, where harvesters begin work as early as 3 or 4 a.m. The best light arrives at sunrise, casting a magical glow across the shimmering salt mounds — an unforgettable scene to photograph.
The activity continues for another hour or so, offering plenty of time to capture both wide landscapes and intimate portraits.
We return to the hotel for breakfast and a long rest, with a late check-out arranged.
In the afternoon, we transfer to Cam Ranh Airport for a short flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, our driver will take us to Hoi An for an overnight stay.
Day 8
15 February 2026
Hoi An
Our day starts before sunrise at a local fishing village on the Thu Bon River, where traditional “Rớ chồ” fishing nets are gracefully lifted from wooden stilt platforms — glimmering with silvery fish under the soft morning light.
On the way back to Hoi An, we’ll stop by the early-morning fresh market, a lively scene bursting with colours, textures, and human connection — perfect for documentary and street photography. Afterwards, we return to the hotel for breakfast and a well-deserved rest.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit a rural family workshop where local women mend vast expanses of blue-green fishing nets, offering wonderful opportunities for people and detail shots.
Later, we return to Hoi An’s Old Town to capture its timeless beauty — warm golden tones in late afternoon light transitioning into the magical blue hour along the lantern-lit streets.
Day 9
16 February 2026
Hoi An – Da Nang – Fly to Siem Reap (Cambodia)
Morning: Enjoy free time for photography around Hoi An’s market and Old Town, where soft morning light reveals the town’s authentic rhythm and charm.

Day 10

Angkor’s Hidden Treasures – The Ancient Road Less Travelled
We’ll discover remarkable pre-Angkorian temples — rarely visited and beautifully overgrown with giant tree roots, much like Ta Prohm but without the crowds.
Our day will be spent photographing with local people or monks amid these serene ruins.
Later, we’ll explore a peaceful rural delta village and end the day with a sunset photo cruise, capturing reflections and golden light on the water.
Day 11
18 February 2026
Angkor Wat – Temples & Goddesses
Today, we focus on photographing the heart of Angkor — learning to work creatively amid the crowds.
We’ll move strategically through key sites to find the best light and unique compositions.
For those who wish to capture the classic Angkor Wat sunrise, we’ll depart early at 4:30 AM to secure the best spot.
Afterwards, we’ll explore a lesser-known vantage point for a fresh perspective of the sunrise scene.
Day 12
19 February 2026
The Forest Temples & Rural Khmer Life
We venture once again off the beaten path to some of the hidden forest temples, rarely visited yet rich in atmosphere.
Here, we’ll photograph monks amid the ancient ruins and visit rural villages for authentic glimpses of Khmer daily life.
In the afternoon, we return to the Bayon Temple for the “must-have” shots in the soft late light.
Nearby, we’ll observe and photograph traditional water blessings performed by monks — a lively, colourful end to your shooting day.

Siem Reap – Departure day
We enjoy one last hearty breakfast with our travel companions and spend more time exploring the beauty of Siem Reap before being transferred to the airport, where your journey with us ends.
Vietnam and Cambodia Photo Tour FAQs
Where do I meet you?
We will all meet at the arrivals hall in Tan Son Nhat International Airport on 8 February 2026.
Departure will be from Siem Reap airport on 20 February 2026.
Is it hot in Vietnam and Cambodia in February?
In February, temperatures can reach the mid-20s. In addition, you will have to factor in the humidity, too, but if you keep yourself hydrated, then you will have no issues.
What clothing should I bring?
Make sure to bring comfortable clothing, such as shorts and t-shirts. As mentioned above, the temperature can easily be in the mid-20s as it hasn’t yet hit the heights of the summer. But do keep an eye on the weather before you leave.
Footwear?
Make sure you bring good-quality footwear that is comfortable for areas such as Hanoi and the Mekong.
What camera kit should I bring?
A wide-angle lens (16-35mm) and a medium zoom (24-70mm) are the lenses we’ll be using the most. A longer zoom (100-400) will be useful to cover most compositional eventualities that we may need to isolate. It’s likely the most used lens will be in the 24-70mm range, as a super wide-angle can create the pancake effect on the mountainous landscape in the north, so make sure this focal length is covered.
Do I need a computer?
Although not essential, it’s a great idea to bring a laptop computer with you so you can discuss imagery with me.
What computer support do you give?
I try and make a point of helping those who need it in digital photography. If inclement weather or tiredness takes hold, it can help to have a computer session to assess our progress.
